Let's play a game!

Yesterday, on my way back from one of our other offices, I spoke with my dad, who has yet another cold. I swear, I think that my parent's house sometimes is a "sick" house. You know those places where the air just keeps getting recycled and the sick germs keep reinfecting everyone? My dad built our house about 15 years ago and I don't think that one drop of air leaks in or out of that house. Anyway...as I am talking to my dad, I can hear my mom and sister being the peanut gallery in the background and it just hit me how homesick I can get. I really miss my family. Unfortunately, I married a man, who said that he would shrivel up and waste away if he ever lived more than an hour from the beach. I keep telling him that Chicago has beaches, but for some reason, he likes the way his hair feels from the saltwater! I said, by that John Frieda, beachy hair spray stuff already. But, unfortunately, we will not be moving the Chi-town anytime soon (even though it is way cooler than the city we live in now). I then spoke with my mom who is back in the classroom teaching kindegarten (sp?). She is so full of complaints because it has been a huge adjustment for her. I keep telling her that at least she is making a contribution with her job! I am so not. Unless you count adding to the asshole population a contribution!

When I got home, J and Stetsie-boy were watching tv. It was 9:00 and J looked at me and said, do you want to go to bed. I thought, hmmm, 9:00?, hell yes! So, we hopped into bed, cozied up, and my loving husband, as I am drifting off into dreamland, turns to me and whispers "Do you want to play the dutch oven game?" That's love! Sleep, sweet sleep.

Until my cuz called at 10:45! Now, I know that she is an hour behind on time, but who calls someone at 9:45pm??

As we are fumbling for the phone, we popcorn'ed Stets off the bed. Poor little pup, he sniffed in righteous indignation and then curled back up and went to sleep.
